Application Fee:
- General: Rs. 210 (excluding service charges and GST).
- SC/ST (West Bengal) and PwD (above 40%): Exempted.
- BC (West Bengal): Rs. 210.
- SC/ST/BC (other states): Rs. 210 (no exemption).
Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit (As on 01.01.2023):
- Group B (Police): 20 to 36 years.
- Group D: 21 to 39 years.
- Other Posts: 21 to 36 years.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST (West Bengal): 5 years.
- OBC (West Bengal): 3 years.
- PWD: Up to 45 years.
Educational Qualifications:
- Must have a degree from a recognized University in India.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali (except for Nepali speakers).
Nationality:
- Indian citizen or declared eligible as a national by the Government of India.
Salary Details:
- Group A and B: Rs. 56,100 – 1,44,300.
- Group C: Rs. 42,600 – 1,09,800.
- Group D: Rs. 32,100 – 82,900.
Exam Pattern:
Prelims Exam:
- 200 MCQs worth 200 marks.
- Duration: 2 ½ hours.
- Negative marking for incorrect answers.
Main Exam:
- 6 compulsory papers.
- 1 optional subject for Group A and B (2 papers).
- Each paper: 200 marks, 3 hours.
- 4 MCQ-based compulsory papers and 2 written exams.
- Negative marking for incorrect answers.
Personality Test:
- Group A and B: 200 marks.
- Group C: 150 marks.
- Group D: 100 marks.

- General Studies: English Composition, General Science, Current Events, Indian History, Geography, Polity, Economy, National Movements, General Mental Ability.
Main Exam:
